Daniel Lipman on episode 1.22

"I loved the end of the first season. I loved the whole "Save The Last Dance For Me". We hired someone to teach Gale And Randy to dance. Randy has done theater and musicals, so he's very agile- and Gale is less so. But they were great together. It was so romantic. I knew people would look at that and swoon. That was a fantasy come true, taking a great-looking guy - your boyfriend - to the prom."

Chat Transcript from a chat with Randy Harrison, 2002:

[ on the dancing and his dancing skills during the prom scene ]
Randy Harrison: We had to learn it. But it was really a lot of fun and I believe that's the way it comes across.

I liked the first season finale. I liked the dancing. I thought it was fun and something really different in the way it was unrealistic. It was this heightened moment that I think worked really well. In a lot of ways more was said in the dance about Brian and Justin’s relationship than in any of our sex scenes or anything else. I think that’s one of my favourite moments.

Chat Transcript from a chat with Gale Harold, 2002:

[ on his dancing skills ]
Gale Harold: No, I hadn't had any dancing experience. That's the magic of the camera. And the camera danced, I would say.
